Dùng sóng dao đập mạnh lên từng con tôm, với động tác này khi cho vào nước sôi, thịt tôm sẽ nở bong lên và dai hơn. Sau khi cho tôm vào, đợi nước sôi vài dạo, tiếp tục cho lá chùm ngây vào, nêm nếm cho vừa ăn, nhắc nồi canh ra khỏi bếp, vậy là món canh rau chùm ngây đã hoàn tất. Điểm trong nền xanh thẫm của rau chùm ngây là những mảng tôm đỏ tươi trông thật bắt mắt. Hương thơm của canh cứ thoang thoảng, vị rau thơm và hơi ngậy. Tôm và rau chùm ngây có lẽ có duyên nợ với nhau, khi nấu hai vị tôm và rau bổ sung cho nhau để nước canh ngọt đậm đà nhưng vẫn thanh thoát.
